Kate’s First Visit to the Pediatrician

Kate had her first visit with the Pediatrician this morning. She did great! The Dr. took one look at me and told me to sit at the desk and take notes. By the time we left, we had a list of things to make sure we did on a regular basis (bath Kate every night, get her vitamins, clean her belly button).

The best part of the visit – Kate gained 4 ounces! We were worried about her because she was not gaining weight enough…but with the help of a lactation consultant Kate is on a feeding frenzy. I never thought I would be happy to say this, but the first time she had a full “yellow-brown” diaper, it was the happiest moment of the evening…It meant that my baby was eating enough! (Since Kate’s grandma arrived and immediately changed her diaper, I actually had to fish the diaper out of the trash to see it…it was beautiful. I was going to take a picture, but the grandparent’s stopped me…)

Sorry to be playing catch up but I have been too busy to actually review the website. Anther favorite story from our first child. Franziska was breast fed. Ooops, perhaps this will be censored in the USA. I meant NURSED for the 1st 6-months. That was a MUST as Sabine read this is important. I always commented that Franziska’s diaper was always filled with mustard. One day I was changing the diaper and noticed that the consistency had changed. I mentioned this to Sabine and she immediatley grilled our Nanny. It turns out Franziska was fed a banana by the Nanny. Poor woman. She got an earful from Sabine as Sabine wanted to feed Franziska solid food first.
